Mouse trap

This past week Javi, Matt, and I had the honor to participate in the 4th annual Mousetrap-Racecar race! We learned all about axels, pullies, levers, and the importance of friction before we constructed our rig. After about 2 days of building and 1 full day of testing and iterating our design, we were ready to race! Race day went amazing and althogh we placed second, I was really happy with our design and it made it almost 18 feet! The whole project was super fun and I really enjoyed every part of it!

BRAINIAC:

VISUALIZE IT:

BUILD IT:

THE COMPETETOR: We competed in the 2nd annual Mousetrap-Racecar race!

GOING THE MILE: We traveled the 2nd farthest in the distance race! a whopping 18 feet!

FEEDBACK:  += the addition of the wooden sticks to the mousetrap increased our distance and also we did a really good job of rolling the string on our axle so that we had the maximum amount of friction which increased our distance!
change= I definitely would change the frame of our racecar. I think that our frame was a little to heavy and that if we used lighter pieces our cart may have traveled a lot farther.
?= what if we were to attach another axle to the main frame of the racecar and run the string along it? Would this increase the distance?
!= This project was super fun and I really enjoyed working with my teammates. I honestly feel like we did a really good job and we had a lot of fun doing it, which is the most important part.

GAME CHANGER: A new awesome rule would be that all the carts have to weigh under 400 g.Or the challenge could be that all carts have to be over 400 g! This challenge would make students think a lot harder about their frame and overall cart structure!

NAME IT: A possible name change for an achievement could be changing "Led Foot" to "Fast and Furious"
